  • Fei Wang grew up in Heze, Shandong. In 2011, he earned a B.S. in applied chemistry at Qingdao University of Science and Technology, working with Prof. Wan-Guo Hou on hydrotalcite-like compounds synthesis for drug delivery. In 2016, he earned his Ph.D. with Prof. Guosheng Liu at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (CAS), developing several new trifluoromethylation reactions via copper catalysis. During his graduate studies, he realized the first copper-catalyzed asymmetric radical cyanation, which now has been developed into a robust tool to access α-chiral nitriles. In 2017, he travelled oversea to join Prof. Shannon S. Stahl’s laboratory at University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), where he was trained in electrocatalysis and electrochemical organic synthesis. In early 2021, Fei Wang joined the faculty of Nankai University as a tenure-track Professor in the College of Chemistry and State Key Laboratory of Elemento-Organic Chemistry.
